About The Position

The Occupational Therapist 2 is responsible and accountable for providing examinations, evaluations, therapy diagnosis, interventions, and prognosis in accordance with established hospital and departmental policies and procedures. The Therapist 2 will their knowledge base through: serving as a clinical instructor for students, mentoring new staff, and participating inmunity education activities. The therapist 2 will participate in performance improvement and program development activities

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy.
  • Licensed or license pending in the State of Illinois without previous disciplinary action in Illinois or other states.
  • Current CPR card.
  • O.T. license in the State of Illinois required.
  • If applicable, must possess valid Illinois drivers license and must be deemed as an acceptable driver in accordance with the MHS Fleet Safety Policy (5 year MVR will be required).
  • 2 yrs of experience required.

Nice To Haves

  • CPR Certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform Patient assessments with patients in a specific service area.
  • Assign an Occupational Therapy treatment diagnosis.
  • Establishes plan of care with objective, measurable goals.
  • Provides interventions supported by evidenced based practice in accordance to the established plan of care.
  • Assesses the effectiveness of treatment and modifies treatment to achieve goals.
  • Plans for discharge.
  • Communicates with patient, family, caregivers and members of team to promote maximum benefit of care.
  • Provide patient care documentation that meets quality standards and supports ethical billing practice.
  • Demonstrates ability toanize workload and manage time effectively.
  • Maintains positive working relationship with patients and referral base.
  • Demonstrates teamwork by routinely offering to help others or assisting others whenever needed.
  • Demonstrates ability to handle difficult and/or stressful situations appropriately.
  • s knowledge through service as a clinical instructor and mentoring new staff.
  • s knowledge with department andmunity through participation with educational offerings.
  • Performs other related work as required or requested.
