Become a part of our caring community and help us put health first The Occupational Therapist is a professional member of the home health team who delivers services that are designed to enhance the physical and psychosocial functioning of the individual. All services are initiated and provided under the direction of a plan of treatment established by a physician. Evaluations are performed by peers. Duties of the Occupational Therapist include, but are not limited to: • Assist the physician with the initial evaluation of patient to assess needs for service and to establish realistic goals. • Administer treatment program prescribed by physician. • Teach activities of daily living. • Provide training in proper use of prosthetic devices and adaptive equipment. • Instruct other members of the health care team in maintaining therapeutic, creative and self-care activities. • Provides appropriate documentation of services in keeping with company policies and procedures. • Participates in team meetings, case conferences, PI activities and other assigned meetings. • Provides company with a required license or certification and necessary information to be able to verify experience. • Respects patients’ rights, cultural beliefs. • Maintains strictest confidentiality of all patient/Agency information. • Adheres to all Agency policies and procedures including HIPAA. • Accepts only those assignments for which qualified. • Monitors and supervises the occupational therapist assistant. • Communicates with Agency about any problems or concerns. • Complies with State Regulatory Acct.
