The position involves providing comprehensive occupational therapy services aimed at maximizing Soldier performance and improving unit readiness. The role includes developing programs to optimize performance behaviors or mitigate injury risk, performing evaluations in various areas such as physical, psychological, cognitive, activities of daily living (ADLs), functional and adaptive skills, and work and occupational role performance. The therapist will plan, coordinate, and implement goal-oriented group and/or behavioral-focused individual treatment programs, apply therapeutic modalities and new integrative techniques and technologies, and participate on an interdisciplinary team to coordinate rehabilitation or wellness activities for individual Soldiers or groups of Soldiers with the brigade. Additionally, the therapist will educate on the injury/disease process and its effect on function, joint protection, energy conservation, ergonomic needs, work simplification, and cognitive compensatory techniques.
