About The Position

To evaluate and treat patients with conditions affecting the hands, wrist, elbows, and shoulders. Assess and treat injuries and conditions such as fractures, tendon, nerve injuries, arthritis, cummulative trauma, chronic pain, and post-surgical conditions. Develop personalized treatment plans to improve mobility, reduce pain, and restore function using therapeutic interventions including modalities and orthosis fabrication, as prescribed by a physician. Requirements

  • If licensed before 1/1/2007: Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy.
  • If licensed on or after 1/1/2007: Master's or Doctorate degree in Occupational Therapy.
  • Satisfactory completion of an internship program is necessary
  • Registered member of the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy- NBCOT
  • This classification requires Primary Source Verification.

Nice To Haves

  • CHT, CHT eligible and/or recent graduate of Michigan Medicine Hand Fellowship
  • Hand therapy experience
  • Ability to work between the hours of 7:00am and 7:00pm, based on clinic scheduling needs
  • Strong adaptability and willingness to work in multiple clinic locations as needed
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills to work effectively with diverse teams and patient populations
  • Willingness and commitment to support the continued education and professional development of Hand Therapy Fellows through mentorship, collaboration and teaching
  • Experience or strong interest in treating chronic pain and complex upper extremity conditions
  • Proficiency with electronic medical record (EMR) systems
  • Demonstrated leadership in mentoring, program development, or staff education
  • Strong interest in continuing education and professional growth within hand therapy
