About The Position

The Brookfield Team has been together for over seven years now and continues to grow, adding more and more talent to the team. Our 'personality' has been known in therapy circles as a clinic you enjoy coming to physical therapy, which at times can be difficult and painful. We try to make things fun and make it a place that patients look forward to coming to. The Occupational Therapist - Hand Therapist position is part-time, starting at fewer than 19 hours per week, with potential for growth. The schedule will be determined based on the clinic's needs and will be discussed further during the interview.

Requirements

  • Licensed in CT as an Occupational Therapist
  • Excellent work ethic and dedication to patient success
  • Basic computer skills
  • CPR and first aid certification required
  • Open to new grads, MUST have level 2 fieldwork experience in both orthopedics and hand therapy

Nice To Haves

  • Level 2 fieldwork experience in hand therapy
  • Some continuing education courses
  • 1 year of experience in outpatient orthopedics and hand therapy as a licensed OT preferred or CHT eligible (accumulated 4000 hours of hand therapy experience and 3 years of experience) waiting to sit for boards
  • CHT certification a plus

Responsibilities

  • Reviewing patient medical history and developing individualized treatment plans
  • Diagnosing patients by observing movements and listening to concerns
  • Using exercises, stretching, equipment, and manual therapy to manage pain and improve mobility
  • Recording patient progress and modifying treatment plans as needed
