The position involves providing occupational therapy-based services to an assigned caseload, ensuring that services align with students' documented therapy goals, including those defined in areas of instructional and therapeutic focus and/or Individualized Education Program (IEP). The role includes developing and implementing safe and appropriate therapeutic interventions, assessing and making recommendations, and documenting or updating annual therapy goals for students as needed. The therapist will evaluate, document, and monitor the provision of services and student progress in a timely manner, ensuring compliance with organizational policies and using language that is comprehensible to caregivers. Regular communication and collaboration with parents, school staff across all disciplines, and medical professionals regarding health, equipment use, and participation in activities are essential. The role also involves fabricating, maintaining, modifying, and monitoring the use of adaptive equipment and orthotics, as well as training school staff on interventions involving assistive technology (AT) or other equipment. Additionally, the therapist will assist with assessments related to AT and durable medical equipment (DME) needs, participate in clinics, document medical necessity, and coordinate with vendors for delivery and fittings. Participation in scheduled supervision, department meetings, and maintaining office and therapy room organization are also part of the responsibilities.
