The position involves providing occupational therapy-based services to an assigned caseload, ensuring that services align with students' documented therapy goals, including those defined in areas of instructional and therapeutic focus and/or Individualized Education Program (IEP). The role includes developing and implementing safe and appropriate therapeutic interventions, assessing and making recommendations, and documenting or updating annual therapy goals for students as needed. The therapist will evaluate, document, and monitor service provision and student progress in a timely manner, while regularly communicating and collaborating with parents, school staff, and medical professionals regarding various factors affecting student participation. Additionally, the role involves fabricating, maintaining, modifying, and monitoring the use of adaptive equipment and orthotics, as well as assisting with assessments related to assistive technology and durable medical equipment needs. The therapist is also responsible for maintaining office and therapy room organization and performing other assigned duties.
