Job Description: Treat patients as directed by the Occupational Therapist. Record daily treatment notes and weekly progress notes per the OT Board. Implement treatment plans as prescribed by the physician. Assist the nursing department with training of Restorative Aides. Communicate with supervisors and other health team members regarding patient progress, concerns, and plans. Participate in in-service training programs for other staff in the facility. Maintain documentation per Occupational Therapy Board, including evaluations, daily treatment notes, weekly progress notes, and recertification documentation, in accordance with state practice acts and third-party payer requirements. Instruct patients' families or nursing staff in maintenance programs and caregiver training in preparation for discharge from therapy services. Participate in discharge planning. Assist with the cleaning and maintenance of the treatment area. Report any issues with department equipment to ensure it is kept in good working order. Establish positive, effective, and appropriate relationships with patients/residents, families, staff, and professional colleagues.
