Occupational Therapist Assistant PRN SNF
About The Position
The Occupational Therapist Assistant (OTA) PRN in a Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) plays a critical role in supporting patients' rehabilitation and recovery by assisting licensed occupational therapists in delivering therapeutic interventions. This position focuses on helping patients regain or improve their ability to perform activities of daily living, thereby enhancing their independence and quality of life. The OTA works closely with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams to implement treatment plans tailored to individual needs. This role requires adaptability to varying patient conditions and the ability to provide compassionate care in a fast-paced healthcare environment. Ultimately, the OTA contributes to improved patient outcomes by facilitating functional gains and promoting safety in the SNF setting.
Requirements
- Valid Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) License
- CPR certification
- Valid Driver’s License
- Valid Auto Insurance
Nice To Haves
- Home health or skilled nursing facility experience preferred
- HomeCare HomeBase experience preferred
Responsibilities
- Administers the Occupational Therapy treatment plan as developed by the Occupational Therapist.
- Applies concepts of infection control/universal precautions in performing patient care.
- Assure continuity of quality patient care delivered with appropriate documentation.
- Provide effective communication to patient/family, team members and other health care professionals.
- Promote agency philosophy and administrative policies.
