Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited school with an associate degree as an Occupational Therapy Assistant.
  • Certification by the State of Wisconsin to practice as an Occupational Therapy Assistant.

Responsibilities

  • Assisting the OTR in performing evaluations and developing individualized treatment plans
  • Implementing therapeutic activities to improve residents’ strength, mobility, and independence in daily living tasks
  • Supporting residents with adaptive strategies, equipment use, and fall prevention
  • Monitoring and documenting residents’ progress accurately
  • Collaborating with a multidisciplinary care team to achieve therapy goals
  • Providing education and guidance to residents and staff on safe function and independence
