About The Position

The Occupational Therapist Assistant (OTA) works under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist (OT) to help patients improve, regain, or maintain daily living and work skills. The OTA supports treatment plan implementation in settings such as rehabilitation, skilled nursing, acute care, outpatient, or school environments.

Requirements

  • Associate Degree from an accredited OTA program
  • Active state OTA license
  • NBCOT certification (if required)
  • BLS certification (if required)
  • Minimum 1 year of clinical experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Implement treatment plans developed by the Occupational Therapist
  • Assist patients with therapeutic exercises and mobility activities
  • Support development of fine motor skills and activities of daily living (ADLs)
  • Train patients on adaptive equipment and assistive devices
  • Monitor and document patient progress
  • Participate in care planning and team meetings
  • Educate patients and families on home exercise programs and safety
