About The Position

The Creekside School is a growing, mission-driven educational program serving students with specialized learning needs. POSITION OVERVIEW The Occupational Therapist Assistant (OTA/COTA) works under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist (OT) to provide direct therapy services to students. The OTA supports students in developing motor, sensory, self-regulation, and daily living skills that promote independence and success in school and beyond.

Requirements

• Current California OTA license (required)
• Minimum 2 years working with individuals with autism or developmental disabilities
• At least 1 year of pediatric occupational therapy experience
• Strong understanding of child development and sensory processing
• Excellent communication and organization skills
• Ability to collect and analyze progress data
• Collaborative team player with a positive, flexible attitude
• Comfortable working in active, hands-on environments
• Must be able to lift up to 25–40 lbs and engage in physical activities such as standing, walking, kneeling, and occasional running.
• Ability to safely support students who may exhibit challenging behaviors (Safety-Care certification provided by the school).

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Psychology, or related field preferred

Responsibilities

• Deliver occupational therapy services as directed by the supervising OT.
• Support students in achieving IEP goals through individualized and group sessions.
• Implement therapy activities focused on sensory integration, fine/gross motor skills, and self-help abilities.
• Collect and record accurate student progress data.
• Collaborate with teachers, teaching assistants, and other support staff to ensure consistent program implementation.
• Communicate effectively with parents, staff, and other service providers.
• Maintain a safe, organized, and engaging therapy environment.
• Participate in meetings, trainings, and professional development activities.
