About The Position

The Creekside School is a growing, mission-driven educational program serving students with specialized learning needs. We are seeking passionate and collaborative employees to join our multidisciplinary team and support students in developing the skills they need for greater independence, regulation, and participation in school and daily life. POSITION OVERVIEW The Occupational Therapist Assistant (OTA/COTA) works under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist (OT) to provide direct therapy services to students. The OTA supports students in developing motor, sensory, self-regulation, and daily living skills that promote independence and success in school and beyond.

Requirements

  • Current California OTA license (required)
  • Minimum 2 years working with individuals with autism or developmental disabilities
  • At least 1 year of pediatric occupational therapy experience
  • Strong understanding of child development and sensory processing
  • Excellent communication and organization skills
  • Ability to collect and analyze progress data
  • Collaborative team player with a positive, flexible attitude
  • Comfortable working in active, hands-on environments
  • Must be able to lift up to 25–40 lbs and engage in physical activities such as standing, walking, kneeling, and occasional running.
  • Ability to safely support students who may exhibit challenging behaviors (Safety-Care certification provided by the school).

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Psychology, or related field preferred

Responsibilities

  • Deliver occupational therapy services as directed by the supervising OT.
  • Support students in achieving IEP goals through individualized and group sessions.
  • Implement therapy activities focused on sensory integration, fine/gross motor skills, and self-help abilities.
  • Collect and record accurate student progress data.
  • Collaborate with teachers, teaching assistants, and other support staff to ensure consistent program implementation.
  • Communicate effectively with parents, staff, and other service providers.
  • Maintain a safe, organized, and engaging therapy environment.
  • Participate in meetings, trainings, and professional development activities.
