About The Position

The Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) at Ochsner Home Health of Raceland is responsible for providing occupational therapy services to patients in their homes, aiming to restore their physical abilities. Requirements

• Current OTA licensure in the state of Louisiana.
• Current CPR certification.
• Current driver's license and vehicle insurance, and access to a dependable vehicle or public transportation.
• Minimum of two (2) years experience as a licensed Occupational Therapist.

• Strong communication skills to effectively interact with patients and healthcare team members.

Responsibilities

• Provide occupational therapy to patients in their homes to restore physical abilities.
• Follow state-specific laws governing occupational therapy in home care as defined by the supervising OT.
• Instruct and aid patients in evidence-based treatment within the scope of the occupational therapy assistant.
• Observe, record, and report patient responses to treatment and changes in condition to the supervising OT, nurse supervisor, and/or physician.
• Coordinate care with other members of the healthcare team as appropriate.
• Instruct patients, families, caregivers, and other healthcare team members in therapy areas within the scope of the occupational therapy assistant.
