Administers occupational therapy treatments to patients working under the direction of an Occupational Therapist. The role involves evaluating patients' occupational performance at discharge according to department policy and procedures, collaborating with the supervising Occupational Therapist on treatment programs tailored to patient and family needs, and consulting with physicians and other rehabilitation team members to design coordinated treatment plans. The Occupational Therapy Assistant performs patient treatments using appropriate interventions, re-evaluates patients' physical, cognitive, and psychosocial status, and maintains active communication with patients and their families regarding progress and home programs. Additionally, the position requires preparing patients for discharge, managing schedules to meet departmental productivity expectations, attending meetings, maintaining accurate documentation, and performing other duties as required by management.
