Staff Nurse RN - Full Time - Occupational Health - Columbia Hospital At NewYork-Presbyterian, nursing is a life-changing career journey focused on amazing patient outcomes every step of the way. In this role, you will perform assessments of employee-patient based on his/her physical, psychological and cognitive status while safeguarding the confidentiality of all employee-patients. You'll plan proper nursing intervention, obtains appropriate medical and support services and document according to P.H. policy. In addition, identify employee’s needs for wellness promotion, developing and participating in employee education plans. You will evaluate employee-patient’s lab data, alerting appropriate personnel for abnormal results that threaten the individual and/or hospital staff and patients. Participate in medical surveillance protocols, including blood drawing, giving vaccines, obtaining urine specimens for drug testing, placing and reading tuberculin skin tests, and counseling. Now, you have the opportunity to join us in in our employee health clinics. This is a full time, 8:00am-4:00pm, Monday-Friday position at our Columbia Hospital.

Requirements

  • Bachelors of Science Degree in Nursing
  • Complete Nurse Residency Program, if a new graduate
  • Current NYS RN Licensure
  • BCLS certification from American Heart Association
  • Knowledge of nursing process: social, behavioral, biological and physical science
  • Knowledge of current health care environment

Nice To Haves

  • Master in Nursing or related field
  • Two years experience in medical/surgical, occupational health, ambulatory care or emergency setting
