Requirements

  • Typically requires a Bachelor's Degree in Safety, or related field, plus two (2) years experience, or the overall equivalent

Responsibilities

  • Collaborating with management, staff, and hourly employees to promote and support a safety culture that prioritizes the well-being of all employees through our Safety Management System (SMS)
  • Leading incident investigations, working closely with management and professionals to identify root causes and implement preventive measures
  • Analyzing data and information to identify potential hazards and develop strategies to mitigate risks
  • Communicating findings and recommendations to senior leadership, ensuring that safety concerns are addressed promptly and effectively
  • Inspecting facilities, machinery, and equipment to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety regulations
  • Training management and hourly employees on required company and regulatory training, ensuring that everyone is equipped to work safely
  • Interacting with regulators during inspections, providing expertise and guidance to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations
  • Identifying hazardous workplace conditions and develop strategies to remove or mitigate risks
  • Participating in Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) inspections and procedures, ensuring that the organization is compliant with regulatory requirements
