About The Position

Chemours currently has an opening for an Occupational, Safety and Health Internship at our Corpus Christi Plant located in Ingleside, TX. The Corpus Christi Plant Occupational, Safety and Health Intern accomplishes, with minimum supervision, a wide variety of Occupational, Safety and Health assignments. This position will shadow, learn and participate in daily EHS activities. A flexible schedule can be accommodated. Interns will be required to review and follow all Chemours EHS (Environmental, Health, and Safety) and Work Procedures.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in a 2-year Occupational, Safety and Health Technology program at DMC with an expected graduation date of May 2026.
  • A signed evaluation from your professor.
  • The employee must be able to wear industrial safety equipment; hard hat, gloves (both leather and chemical), hearing protection, FR clothing, steel toed shoes, safety glasses, and goggles.
  • Must be able to lift to 50 pounds frequently without accommodation and be able to stand for extended periods of time.
  • Must have excellent manual dexterity and visual acuity and can stand, walk, stoop, bend, kneel, crawl, reach overhead, and climb multiple flights of stairs.

Responsibilities

  • Follows and reinforces all safety, health and environmental rules, policies, and regulations.
  • Review and update digital and hardcopy Safety Data Sheets (SDS).
  • Ensure that all containers of hazardous chemicals are properly labeled, and that Safety Data Sheets (SDS) are accessible.
  • Conduct training sessions for employees on hazard communication and safe handling of chemicals.
  • Conduct weekly field audits.
  • Assist in maintaining the Safety How manual in reviewing and updating safety procedures per CRIM guidance.
  • Assist with conducting noise surveys.
  • Assist with uniform distribution FR program.
  • Assist with performing ergonomic assessments.
  • Coordinate chemical exposure monitoring and prepare required reports.
  • Participate in Ergonomics Committee.
  • Participate in PPE Committee.
