The Hand Therapy Specialist plans and conducts individualized occupational therapy programs to help patients develop, regain, or maintain their ability to perform daily activities. They teach patients skills and techniques to use adaptive equipment for participating in activities. *This position is part-time 24+ hours/week*

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree is required.
• One year previous orthopaedic and manual therapy experience, preferred.
• Licensed Occupational or Physical Therapist within the state of Colorado. Must be in good standing.
• Credentialed as a Certified Hand Therapist, preferred.
• Current Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification, required.
• Core competencies in job knowledge, communication, customer service, planning/organizing, quantity, and confidentiality.
• Position requires valid driver's license, acceptable motor vehicle history, valid and free from restrictions, and must have appropriate vehicle insurance coverage. Ability to travel between all OCR locations.

Responsibilities

• Evaluates the extent of the patient’s disabilities and limitations to determine appropriate treatment programs.
• Plans therapy programs and administers treatment to restore body function and strength, relieving pain and preventing disability.
• Maintains medical records of evaluation, treatment, and progress of each patient.
• Demonstrates and maintains proficiency in rehabilitation of the hand/upper extremity, including knowledge of post-surgical progression and fabrication of custom orthoses.
