About The Position

Purpose: The Occupational Health Technician assiduously manages the health and welfare of Clow Valve by proactively caring for employees, promoting Clow as a premier place to work. Key Performance Indicators: Sustainability: 100% compliance with Medical Surveillance. Customer Experience: Documentation entered in Medical Charting program within 24 hours Employee Experience: Complete 4 health & wellness initiatives per year. Core Function Of Position: Records Management (60%): Actively partner with the Human Resources team to ensure accurate and timely onboarding of new employees by diligently creating and maintaining all medical records/profiles. Accurately chart/log medical findings, SEG results, and related visit updates in Cority. Diligently assist with other nursing staff to perform/maintain regular checks on all AED, trauma bags, First-aid kits, and PPE pertaining to nursing and accurately record all information. Employee Wellness (30%): Maximize employee productivity by cultivating and fostering trusting relationships with employees amongst the organization to accurately assess the well-being of the workforce and connect them with the resources needed to improve their health. Assist with annual audits/assessments and SEG's to guarantee compliance with OSHA and government regulations including but not limited to, annual hearing tests, PFTs, and random drug screens. Assist employees with standard first aid care for common health conditions and workplace injuries within level of training. Advisory (10%): Proactively seek ways to enhance medical safety knowledge among Clow Valve and assist supervisors/safety committees with conducting risk assessments. Coordinate health and wellness promotion campaigns and activities to foster a trusting environment that values employee well-being. Advise employees on wellness standards and tactfully assist supervisors in enforcement of standards. Be a member of the Medical Response Team, and assist with training of the team.

Requirements

  • Microsoft office Suites
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Record Management experience required.
  • High School diploma plus PFT and/or audiogram certification or must be willing to obtain PFT & Audiogram certifications within first three months of employment.

Nice To Haves

  • Cority knowledge a plus or other Medical Charting Programs a plus.
  • Active Iowa Nursing License for LPN, CMA, or CNA or equivalent & 2-3 years practical nursing experience or equivalent experience with First Aid/Emergency Response (EMT, MRT, etc.).
