About The Position

We're looking for multiple dedicated, proactive, and collaborative safety professionals to join us as either Technicians or Specialists, depending on your experience and qualifications. Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • At least two years of experience in occupational safety and health, 3-5 years preferred.
  • A valid driver's license with a zero or positive points balance and at least 2 years of driving history.
  • Knowledge of applicable federal and state occupational health and safety regulations and guidelines.
  • Demonstrated ability to conduct inspections and identify unsafe work practices or conditions and make recommendations.
  • Demonstrated use of computer programs such as, Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and interact with people of diverse backgrounds.
  • Bachelor's degree in related field. Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of degree requirement.
  • At least four years of experience in occupational safety and health, 5-7 years preferred.
  • Knowledge of applicable occupational health and safety regulations and guidelines.
  • Ability to communicate effectively through oral and written media.
  • Demonstrated time management skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with diverse academic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds of FM staff.
  • Balance competing priorities in a fast-paced and changing environment.
  • Handle sensitive matters and situations.
  • Remain calm under high pressure/difficult situations.
  • Able to analyze information and use it effectively to solve problems.
  • Ability to perform duties while wearing required respiratory equipment (must pass required medical exam); must be able to crawl, bend, climb ladders, lift approximately 40 lbs.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct workplace inspections for safe work environment and report findings.
  • Continually assist with improving existing safety and health programs and training and their effective implementation.
  • Monitor facilities and processes for compliance and interpret and implement applicable occupational health and safety regulations and guidelines as published by OSHA, ANSI, NIOSH, ACGIH, etc.
  • Maintain current knowledge on existing and pending legislation related to safety policies and procedures and be informed on industry trends and innovations.
  • Work collaboratively with FM personnel to come up with feasible abatement for health and safety hazards.
  • Act as a resource during toolbox talks and during and after safety committee meetings.
  • Attend and participate in health and safety training sessions and education opportunities as required by the OHS Manager.
  • Track and manage data.
  • Lead and assist with incident investigations to determine causes and devise preventive measures, facilitating in a positive and supportive manner.
  • Develop SOPs as needed to provide procedures for tasks conducted, to include creating spreadsheets for data tracking purposes.
  • Develop and implement safety training under direction of the OHS Manager and in collaboration with the Occupational Training team.
  • Assist with review and development of safety and health programs for alignment with regulations, standards, and codes.
