About The Position

The Occupational Health Nurse (OHN) at TPC Group is responsible for developing, administering, and implementing occupational health and wellness services for employees. This role includes providing emergency medical services and first aid care, managing workers' compensation cases, and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations. The OHN plays a critical role in promoting a safe and healthy workplace through various health programs and initiatives.

Requirements

  • 10-12 years of occupational health nursing experience in an industrial setting (manufacturing, refinery, chemical facilities).
  • Licensed RN required; Occupational Health Nursing Certification preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA, DOT, and other state and federal regulations related to environmental health and safety.
  • Experience in wellness program development and implementation.
  • Good interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team environment.
  • Active listening skills and ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Results-oriented and driven with professionalism and proactive problem-solving skills.
  • Capable of giving presentations and computer literate in Word and Excel.

  • Experience in emergency medical care and workers' compensation systems.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitates procedures, protocols, and measurable outcomes to ensure the delivery of occupational health programs.
  • Conducts medical surveillance and manages DOT and company programs for random drug screens.
  • Implements the Company and Pipeline Alcohol Misuse & Controlled Substance Plan and Training.
  • Participates as a member of the Company Pandemic Task Force, responsible for pandemic case management and metrics reporting.
  • Manages chemical exposure and first aid measures, including emergency medical response for minor illnesses and injuries.
  • Prepares and maintains files for workers' compensation and TPC Injury Reports for on-the-job injuries.
  • Collaborates with HR and Site Leadership on workers' compensation and medical disability issues.
  • Performs follow-up and tracks progress of medical care provided to injured employees.
  • Collaborates with the company physician on physical examination protocols and monitors medical services rendered by clinics.
  • Establishes and maintains OSHA-required documents and medical records.
  • Manages disability case management and ensures compliance with FMLA and other regulations.
  • Schedules and leads medical case reviews and ADA reasonable accommodation reviews.
  • Works with Medical Provider to update Medical Response Protocols for OHN and ERT Medical Team.
