The Occupational Health Nurse reports to the EHS Manager and is an onsite position. What you’ll do: Consults with Risk Management, Legal, HR, and third-party vendors to develop/improve company policies, procedures, and programs designed to achieve best practices in Workers’ Compensation (WC) administration and include appropriate and high-quality medical care for employees. Engages with EHS & Sustainability, Risk Management, Third Party Administrators, Legal and local teams to resolve WC cases and long-term claims. Designs and drives consistent implementation of OH protocols, practices, and programs. Ensures compliance with Cytiva Safety and HR policies and applicable laws and regulations and governmental guidelines (such as ADA, DOT, OSHA, NIOSH, CDC, etc.). Administers Cytiva’s vaccination program. Maintains policies, standards, and employee vaccination records in compliance with Cytiva policies and guidelines provided by health authorities. Works with Safety Department to understand and improve work-related physical demands to effect improved employee outcomes. Partners with EHS & HR to leverage and expand Wellness and EAP programs and initiatives to improve employee well-being in line with “total worker health.” Aligns wellness efforts to critical OH exposures, such as ergonomics, musculoskeletal injuries, slips/trips/falls, etc. Evaluates effectiveness of targeted Wellness efforts over time. Leads Reasonable Accommodation Committees and efforts. Provides support leadership and state HR in the identification of alternative work arrangements for light-duty and reasonable accommodations. Oversees the Wellness, EAP, and Occupational Health initiatives for the site. Incorporates medically sound approaches to the workplace, including stretching, warm-ups, physical strength, etc. Seeks out new opportunities to enhance existing programs. Outlines training expectations accordingly. Is responsible for oversight of medical exams and drug testing, including post offer pre-employment physicals and ongoing certifications. Regular working hours will be Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM, with a one-hour lunch break. After-hours coverage will Monday through Friday, 4:30 PM to 10:30 PM by phone.
