About The Position

Provides comprehensive occupational health and safety services to team members to include compliance for all OSHA Regulations, CDC and CMS guides along with Virginia Workers Compensation and Riverside Care Difference Guidelines. May supervise other team members and works under the supervision of the Riverside Health System (RHS) System Director of Employee Occupational Health. What you will do Serves as the organization's liaison for worker's compensation (WC) and manages all WC claims including bill payment recommendations. Works with claims representatives and acts upon recommendations. Provides timely follow up on cases, claims and bills. Provides guidance to leaders regarding best practices in preventing and managing injuries/exposures and claims. Works closely with managers to ensure lost and restricted duty days are held to a minimum level. Identifies trends, investigates, and makes recommendations to reduce hazards to ensure safe patient care and working environment. Reviews all Employee Occurrence Reports (EOR) and processes them to the WC Insurance Company within the 3-day window. Facilitates/oversees the return to work process ensuring HR Business Partners (HRBP)/ Leave Management and leaders are involved in appropriate communication. Works with Leave Management to incorporate as needed any ADA return to work clinical review. Provides Fit for Duty processing as needed. Return to work guidelines and plans of action are documented in the electronic medical record (EMR). Reviews trends, makes recommendations to appropriate teams. Assists with preparation of the monthly illness/ injury reports. Provides employee health screenings and services in the region served so that the employees’ health status is effectively monitored and maintained. Performs Post offer assessments to include drug screening, color blind testing, vision testing, mask fit testing/PAPRS and vaccination review. Responsible for TB Screening process, job description and essential functions review with employees and determines if any ADA accommodations are needed. Accurately documents all findings in electronic health record within 3 working days and no longer than 5 working days. Maintains CMS/DNV and OSHA requirements of documentation and clinic environment at all times. Assists with the development, implementation, and coordination of Employee Health programs to promote health and safety for employees, physicians, and volunteers. Maintains accurate records, provides communication to supervisors, managers and leaders as required. Timely reporting of any exposure, testing and monitoring of employees and outcomes, reporting to appropriate committees as needed. Collaborates with healthcare providers, Human Resources and managers for timely and safe return to work agreements by meeting the employee’s abilities as described by the treating provider and in conjunction with their job description. Works collaboratively with other employee health offices, providing input and assistance when offsite coverage is needed either in person or telephonically. Provides team member education as needed. This includes education on requiring vaccinations, immunizations, exposures, worker's compensation, proper use of PPE and how this all relates to team member safety. Assists in safety skills/fairs as needed. Responsible for maintaining a clean, orderly, and safe environment for patients and co-workers. Works closely with infection prevention department and follows all infection control policies and procedures. Keeps updated on current regulatory changes and workers compensation law updates.

Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree, Nursing (Required)
  • Registered Nurse (RN) - Virginia Department of Health Professions (VDHP) (Required)
  • CPR/BLS Certification - American Heart Association/American Red Cross/American Safety and Health Institute (AHA/ARC) (Required)

Nice To Haves

  • 1 year Clinical management experience which includes overseeing clinical staff and/or employee occupational health programs. (Preferred)
