About The Position

Our client is seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Occupational Health & Safety Program Coordinator to support medical and regulatory compliance programs related to workers’ compensation, DOT, OSHA, and drug & alcohol testing requirements. This is a fully onsite, full-time contract opportunity in Springfield, VA. In this role, you will coordinate medical care and compliance activities in support of workers’ compensation claims, drug and alcohol testing programs, pre-employment physicals, OSHA medical surveillance requirements, and fitness-for-duty determinations. The successful candidate has strong organizational skills, attention to detail, persistence in follow-up, and the ability to communicate effectively with employees, management, and external medical providers.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and follow through persistently.
  • Comfortable making phone calls and utilizing multiple communication channels (phone, email, Teams, chat).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Teams.
  • Experience working with web-based systems and tracking tools.
  • Prior experience in customer service or employee-facing support roles.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting DOT and/or OSHA compliance programs.
  • Familiarity with occupational health, safety, utilities, or similar regulated industries

Responsibilities

  • Provide onsite support to employees regarding occupational health and compliance matters.
  • Coordinate workers’ compensation documentation, pre-employment physicals, fitness-for-duty evaluations, and OSHA medical surveillance programs.
  • Administer and track DOT-compliant drug and alcohol testing (pre-employment, random, post-accident, reasonable suspicion, and follow-up).
  • Maintain accurate employee records and Excel-based tracking systems to ensure compliance with DOT, OSHA, PHMSA, and FMCSA requirements.
  • Conduct annual DOT Clearinghouse queries for CDL drivers.
  • Communicate compliance status updates to employees and management and assist in resolving related issues.
