About The Position

Occasional Caregiver in Sacramento, CA 95834 A lovely family in the Natomas area of Sacramento is seeking a compassionate, experienced caregiver for their 77-year-old grandmother, with care beginning the week of March 9. This is an ongoing, occasional position scheduled one day every other week, either Tuesday or Wednesday (caregiver’s choice), from 9am-1pm. The client is largely independent and values structure and organization in her daily routine. She is kind, faith-oriented (Christian), and enjoys meaningful companionship. Approximately 1.5 years ago, she experienced a stroke that has resulted in lasting weakness on her right side. She uses a walker for mobility and an electric scooter for longer distances. The caregiver must be comfortable folding and storing the walker in their vehicle when transporting her. The family is looking for a proactive caregiver with prior experience supporting elderly individuals and/or stroke recovery patients—someone attentive, dependable, and able to take initiative. Start date: Immediate Length of Position: Ongoing Schedule: 1 day every other week (Tuesday or Wednesday), 9am-1pm Compensation: $20-$22 per hour + gas reimbursement when driving the client

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of paid, professional caregiving experience
• Legally authorized to work in the U.S.
• High School diploma or equivalent
• CPR certified, or willing to become certified
• Ability to provide 2 care-related references
• Able to successfully clear a background and social media screening
• Valid driver’s license, clean driving record + proof of valid auto insurance
• Reliable vehicle to transport the client

Responsibilities

• Prepare light, simple meals
• Provide transportation to appointments and grocery store (furthest distance approximately 40 minutes)
• Offer companionship and engagement
• Perform light housekeeping related to the client
• Monitor and take vital signs (blood pressure)

Benefits

• This position pays $20 - 22 per hour, plus gas reimbursement when driving the client.
• The family is looking for someone on occasion, every two weeks for, and it will be 4 hours per visit.
