About The Position

The OCC Operator II is responsible for operating and monitoring renewable energy assets within the Operations Control Center (OCC). This role ensures that all systems meet generating requirements while adhering to safety and efficiency standards. The operator will manage alarm resolutions, curtailment procedures, and emergency action planning, while also maintaining communication with local site personnel and other stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Associate's Degree in Technical/Electrical/Engineering or equivalent work experience required.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Technical/Electrical/Engineering preferred.
  • 4+ years of Electrical Control Room experience required.
  • Experience with scheduling/progress control techniques.
  • Proficient in energy management and trending analysis software, SCADA, and Microsoft Office.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and operate renewable assets including alarm and warning resolution, curtailment procedures, and emergency action planning.
  • Perform substation switching operations in accordance with authorized procedures.
  • Ensure maximum SCADA connectivity and resolve SCADA/communication failures.
  • Maintain formal operator logs of real-time activities and communications as required.
  • Support the operations of the O&M and Asset Management Group for rapid market response.
  • Assist in scheduling unplanned outages with Scheduling Entities.
  • Support the Maintenance Team in executing maintenance plans and troubleshooting.
  • Participate in the administrative maintenance of plant operating manuals and preventive maintenance records.
  • Support training of shift personnel on OCC processes and procedures.
  • Contribute to performance improvement and failure analysis of SCADA systems.
