The facility is seeking a Board-Certified or Board-Eligible Obstetrics Hospitalist to join its dynamic women’s health team in Charlotte, North Carolina . This hospital-based position offers an excellent opportunity to focus exclusively on inpatient obstetric and gynecologic care, including labor and delivery management, emergency OB/GYN coverage, and inpatient consultations. The schedule is flexible, with a balanced rotation designed to support work-life balance and minimize burnout. The OB Hospitalist team collaborates closely with obstetricians, midwives, neonatologists, anesthesiologists, and nursing staff to ensure high-quality, safe, and coordinated care for patients. Requirements
- MD or DO degree from an accredited medical institution.
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Obstetrics and Gynecology; eligible for North Carolina medical licensure.
Nice To Haves
- Prior hospitalist or inpatient OB experience preferred; new graduates with strong inpatient interest are encouraged to apply.
Responsibilities
- Provide hospital-based obstetric and gynecologic care, including labor and delivery management.
- Respond to obstetric and gynecologic emergencies and provide inpatient consultations.
- Assist with triage, admissions, and postoperative care.
- Manage both routine and high-risk deliveries in collaboration with the obstetrics team.
- Perform surgical procedures including cesarean sections and emergency gynecologic interventions.
- Support patient safety initiatives and adherence to clinical protocols.
- Participate in quality improvement, education, and interdisciplinary collaboration.
- Maintain accurate documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR) system.
