About The Position

BAE Systems is hiring a Program Manager (PM) to support our Combat Mission Systems (CMS) business. The ideal candidate will have lifecycle experience in tracked combat vehicles from design development through sustainment. The successful PM candidate will join an established team of seasoned PMs managing the design team overseeing the existing and proposed work directives for the Bradley Fighting Vehicle (BFV) Systems Technical Support (STS) program. Location/Travel/Schedule: The position can be based out of Sterling Heights, MI or York, PA This will be an Onsite Hybrid role where you can work from home 1-2 days each week and go onsite 3 days each week This position will require up to 25% travel This role has a 9/80 schedule where you will have every other Friday off Responsibilities: Provide leadership and programmatic management oversight of project teams assuring projects meet financial, schedule, scope, and technical objectives, and achieve the highest level of customer satisfaction. Responsible for completion of project deliverables meeting customer requirements and their on-time delivery. Manage and control Work Directive budget and scope Coordination with production, fielding, and sustainment teams to transition designs from engineering data to fielded hardware Lead with a customer focus, building and maintaining relationships to support the delivery of customer requirements Communicate with all levels of BAE Systems senior management regarding program performance status (cost / schedule / resources / risk) as well as performance to annual financial objectives Responsible for all aspects of Earned Value Management for each Work Directive, to include estimate to complete/estimate at completion (ETC/EAC) processes Manage program scope and cost estimating, including Lead the master planning process and provide leadership and support to schedulers. Manage the cross functional team, to include Contracts, Supply Chain, Engineering, and Quality Manage subcontractors and suppliers Identify and develop opportunities to increase the value of assigned project(s) Lead the development of capture plans and preparation of proposals in response to various customer requests. The proposals include the cost estimate and project schedule Identify ways to use STS work directives to support Bradley Family of Vehicles Attract, motivate, and lead teams, from multiple sites and/or cultures, including industry partners and suppliers Lead and inspire diverse cross-functional teams in a high tempo environment

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Business or related field and 8 years of related experience or equivalent experience in vehicle development, hardware/software development, qualification, production, and/or sustainment programs. We may consider candidates with fewer years experience for a more junior role.
  • Experience in Program/Project Management applying knowledge of PM methodologies, toolsets, and processes.
  • Experience in Cross-functional Leadership to achieve program objectives using a team-based approach that demonstrates the value of each team member.
  • Experience with Program Risk and Opportunity (R&O) management activities to include scope management, program/project plans, identification of risks, development of risk mitigation plans, and allocation of available resources.
  • Ability to effectively manage program complexities and structuring activities in times of ambiguity.
  • Ability to manage and influence internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to identify and develop opportunities to increase the value of the project(s) and to capture new projects.
  • Highly effective critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to build strong relationships and effectively communicate (verbally and in writing) at all levels within the customer community.

Nice To Haves

  • Graduate Degree in Engineering or Business Administration.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification or similar.
  • Experience in Control Account Manager (CAM) and all facets of Earned Value Management Systems (EVMS).
  • Experience in Defense (Department of War) / Government Contracting.
  • Experience in a manufacturing / production environment.
  • Experience in Business Case development, Analysis and Presentation.
  • Fluency with MS Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams, and PowerPoint software programs.

Responsibilities
