About the position

The Observability Assigned Expert at Splunk plays a crucial role in enhancing customer experience by providing strategic technical mentorship and support for the adoption and optimization of the Splunk platform. This position focuses on ensuring customers achieve maximum value from their investment in Splunk through consistent engagement, problem resolution, and collaboration with internal teams to improve software offerings. The role requires a blend of technical expertise and strong interpersonal skills to effectively guide customers through complex challenges and drive successful outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Strategic execution of adoption and optimization activities in long-term engagements, including regular meetings and documentation.
  • Provide high-quality technical mentorship on Enterprise level architecture, configuration, and optimization in sophisticated environments.
  • Build, drive, and report on customer success plans.
  • Act as a customer advocate for key initiatives and discreet needs within the Splunk ecosystem.
  • Serve as a dedicated point of contact for customer needs, including adoption, optimization, customer success, and technical escalations.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of current experience in technical consulting or Application Performance Monitoring (APM).
  • Strong development proficiency in at least 3 programming languages such as Java, .NET, PHP, Ruby, Python, Node.JS, Objective-C, Java-Dalvik.
  • Current experience with Terraform, Kubernetes, and Docker.
  • Solid experience with microservices in cloud environments like AWS, GCP, or Azure.
  • Experience with at least 2 of the following: Nagios, Monit, ELK, Confluence, JIRA, Consul.io, Jenkins, Lambda.
  • Strong knowledge of open systems application and infrastructure.
  • Clear understanding of network and system management solutions.
  • Experience with both Unix and Windows operating systems, comfortable on the command line interface.
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or substantial relevant on-the-job experience.

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of Splunk administration or Splunk Platform experience.
