About The Position

Healthcare Coding and Consulting Services (HCCS) is currently hiring for an experienced and certified Full-time Observation (OBS) Coders for immediate an opening.

This remote positions are ideal for coders seeking long-term, stable opportunities with a company that values accuracy, professionalism, and career growth.

As an OBS coder with HCCS, you’ll be responsible for accurately coding outpatient observation encounters, mastering client systems, and consistently meeting productivity and quality standards. We assign coders to chart types and facilities that align with their experience, ensuring you're supported and set up for success.

HCCS is a family-owned company offering direct-hire, W-2 positions—not contract work or temporary projects. All operations are U.S.-based, and we do not outsource any part of our coding services.

Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years of OBS facility production coding experience
• At least 6 months of recent OBS facility coding experience
• Must be profiecent in Injections & Infusions
• Experience in coding surical procedures
• Active AHIMA or AAPC certification (CPC-A and CCA not accepted or considered)
• Ability to maintain minimum standards of productivity and accuracy

Nice To Haves

• CCS certification is preferred
