The OB Technician performs a variety of patient care and clerical duties to assist and support the organization and function of the Labor/Delivery/Recovery/Postpartum (LDRP).. The OB Tech is responsible for the preparation of and providing the surgeon with sterile supplies and instruments while maintaining sterile field during the case. The OB Tech will assist with activities of daily living, provide basic nursing care to both the mom and the newborn and assists in the maintenance of a safe environment under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse. Completes and processes birth certificates, and “Declaration of Paternity” forms as needed.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • BLS Certification within 30 days and maintain current
  • Current certification as a nursing assistant

Nice To Haves

  • Certified Surgical Scrub Technician or equivalent preferred
