About The Position

What you will do: A clinically competent Surgical Technologist, under the supervision of the Registered Nurse, is responsible for the care and safety of the patient during the intra-operative period and assisting with preparation of surgical patient by performance of routine and delegated duties according to standards and policies of the hospital. Included within this assignment is assessing and providing basic patient care needs while maintaining patient care standards. The Obstetric Surgical Technician should be self-motivated and able to function as a member of a health care team. What you will need: Education: Graduate of an approved Surgical Technologist program or Surgical Technology program. Must be able to read and write English. Experience: Must possess a minimum of one-year current operating room experience (student experience allowed). Possesses a service orientation, should possess the ability to understand and react effectively to the unique needs and care for all patient populations. (i.e. neonatal, pediatrics, adolescents, geriatrics). Special Qualifications: Knowledge and understanding of basic principles of asepsis, simple biology, leadership qualities, the ability to work independently, demonstrates effective communication and organizational skills. Requirements
