Requirements
- High School diploma or GED equivalent.
- Graduate from a Surgical Technologist training program OR has one?year previous operating room experience as a Surgical/Delivery Room Technologist OR three years of experience providing direct patient care in a clinical setting.
- BLS required.
Nice To Haves
- NRP is preferred.
- Preferred completion of a fetal monitoring workshop and an orientation to learn surgical asepsis.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for handling the instruments, supplies, and equipment necessary during the obstetrical operations performed in the Operating Room located in the Labor and Delivery unit.
- He/she has an understanding of the procedure being performed and anticipates the needs of the surgeon.
- He/she has the necessary knowledge and ability to ensure quality patient care during the operative procedure and is constantly on vigil for maintenance of the sterile field.
- Performs patient care duties under the direction of a registered nurse.
