About The Position

Assesses and plans for direct patient care and provides leadership within the nursing team.# Responsible and accountable for the care given to the patient and for the decisions regarding nursing tasks delegated to licensed and unlicensed personnel.# Responsible for adhering to all standards of nursing care.# Responsible and accountable to know and understand OZH#s vision, mission, values, and standards. Assist providers in care of pregnant women and in the delivery of babies Work as part of a team of caregivers in the labor and delivery department Must be able to listen and take direction Attention to detail, patience and the ability to handle stress are paramount Strong communication and interpersonal skills are critical Physically and mentally demanding, involving long hours at times Prepare delivery rooms, prep patients, care for babies, explain and provide afterbirth care to mothers and babies Work with expectant mothers to prevent problems and safeguard the health of the women and babies they carry Must be able to react to OB, neonatal and post op gynecological needs of the patient Must work well with women, enjoy babies, and cope with patient's families during high pressure situations that can occur before, during and after birth/surgery
