Requirements

  • Graduate from a school of Ultrasound and/or Radiologic Technology, along with completion of a clinical rotation in Radiology and/or Ultrasound prior to graduation.
  • RDMS certified or ARDMS Registry Eligible, OB/MFM ARDMS certification.
  • CPR/BLS certification required through ARC or AHA.
  • At least 1 year of experience performing OB/MFM exams/ultrasounds.
  • Familiarity and compliance with matters of law, regulations and internal policies affecting the employment relationship.

Responsibilities

  • Perform high-quality obstetric and maternal fetal medicine ultrasound examinations, including first-trimester, anatomy, growth, biophysical profiles, Doppler studies, and fetal echocardiography (as trained)
  • Accurately measure, document, and analyze ultrasound findings in accordance with established protocols and physician orders
  • Identify and communicate abnormal or urgent findings promptly to the interpreting physician
  • Provide compassionate, patient-centered care, explaining procedures and ensuring patient comfort and privacy
  • Collaborate closely with Maternal Fetal Medicine physicians, nurses, genetic counselors, and other clinical staff
  • Maintain detailed, accurate patient records and ensure timely completion of reports in the electronic medical record
  • Adhere to ALARA principles and all safety, infection control, and quality assurance standards
  • Properly operate, clean, and maintain ultrasound equipment and report equipment issues as needed
  • Stay current with best practices, continuing education, and advancements in obstetric and MFM ultrasound
  • Comply with all departmental policies, regulatory requirements, and accreditation standards
