OB Hospitalist Job Quick Facts: • Specialty: Obstetrics & Gynecology • Job Type: Locum Tenens • Location: Mason City, IA • Service Setting: Inpatient • Reason For Coverage: Supplemental • Coverage Period: ASAP - Ongoing • Coverage Type: Call Only • Shifts needed to be filled: Approx. 4 shifts/month; 24-96 hour shift scheduling - Mar 22 (7p) - Mar 24 (7a) - Mar 25 (7a) - Mar 27 (7a) - Mar 30 (7a) - Mar 30 (7p) - Apr 22 (7a) - Apr 22 (7p) - Apr 23 (7a) - Apr 24 (7a) - May 3 (7p) - May 4 (7a) - May 5 (7a) - May 9 (7a) - May 13, 7a-5p - May 17 (7p) - May 21 (7a) - May 24 (7p) - May 25 (7a) - Jun 4 (7a) - Jun 5 (7a) - Jun 8 (7p) - Jun 9 (7a) - Jun 10 (7a) - Jun 11 (7a) - Jun 19 (7a) - Jun 21 (7a) • Call Schedule: 7a-7a, 7p-7a, 7a-5p • Call Type: In-house • Census: Average 500-600 births/year • Duties: - Oversee L&D unit, triage patients, & perform vaginal or CS deliveries - Mgt. of high/low-risk OB evaluations, emergencies, & urgent GYN consultations/surgeries - Provide education/mentoring for residents & staff - Assist OBGYN peers in complex surgical cases if needed • Care team/support: OBGYN, FM resident/faculty, EFM certified nurses & providers, 24/7 pediatric hospitalists, NICU nurses, pharmacists, labor/delivery/post-partum RNs, MA/LPN, CLC, IBCLC • No. of OBGYNs: 1 general FTE, 1 FTE, 1 PT, 3 PRN • No. of APPs: 5; 2 ARNPs, 2 PAs, 1 midwife • Nursing support: 1:1 (additional support in hospital/birth center) • Services offered: - Annual breast & pelvic exams, Pap smears - Abnormal pap smears & HPV Management - Care: Routine Prenatal/Postnatal, endometriosis, & menopause - Contraception: Consultation & Options - Treatments: Infertility, & urinary incontinence - Hormone replacement, menstrual irregularities - Pelvic prolapse repairs, permanent sterilization - U/S Imaging • Onsite ancillary/diagnostic services: Medical imaging, lab, & pharmacy • EMR: EPIC • Travel, lodging, & malpractice insurance covered
