About The Position

Sun River Health provides the highest quality of comprehensive primary, preventative and behavioral health services to all who see it, regardless of insurance status and ability to pay, especially for the underserved and vulnerable. Sun River Health is a Federally Qualified, Non-Profit Health Center serving communities in Suffolk, Rockland, Orange, Dutchess, Ulster, Sullivan, Columbia and Westchester County. Sun River Health is currently seeking full-time OB/GYN to join our team in Peekskill.

Requirements

  • Doctorate Degree (including MD, DO, DD, PhD, etc.)
  • Board Certified and CPR/BLS.
  • Knowledge of diagnostic and treatment procedures that nurse practitioners are trained to do.
  • Competence in delivery of health care to patients (including preventative health education).
  • Ability to collaborate with other members of the Health Center.
  • Bilingual in both English and Spanish (orally and written) is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnosis and treatment of patients in his/her specialty area.
  • Collaboration and supervision of nurse practitioners and physician's assistants.
  • Participation in planning and developing health care services in his/her specialties.
  • Treatment of conditions and illnesses within the scope of the physician's specialty.
  • Referral and follow-up of patients when indicated.
  • Participation in after hours coverage to ensure 24-hour availability of care for Center patients.
  • Daily Clinical Assessment: Takes Histories, examines, diagnoses and treats as per specialty scope of practice and privileges granted.
  • Chart Documentation: Uses EMR for all documentation, including updated problem list and all interfaced labs.
  • Referral, Communication and Multi-Disciplinary Approach in Management and treatment.
  • Completes and Participates in Chart Review process.
  • Displays Compassionate Patient Care and Sensitivity.
  • Committed to continuing Education, Growth, and Expansion.
  • Attendance and Participation in clinical Provider Meetings.
  • Professional and Respectful communication with Staff.
