JOB OVERVIEW • Job Title: Obstetrics & Gynecology • Job Type: Locum Tenens • Location: Tallahassee, FL • Service Setting: Hospital • Coverage Type: Call Only • Coverage Period: May 25, 2026 – Ongoing (3 months initial) • On-Call Shift Schedule: 24-hour beeper call (7:00 AM – 7:00 AM) • Call Type: Beeper Call with Callback • Call Ratio: Flexible; 2–3 consecutive shifts allowed • Callback Rate: Approximately 0–3 hours per shift PATIENT INFORMATION • Patient Demographics: Obstetric and Gynecologic patients • Patient Volume/Census: Approximately 1,185 deliveries annually • Admissions: Included • Rounding: Included • Phone Consults: Included • Case Mix: OB hospitalist coverage including labor and delivery, surgical backup, and emergency OB/GYN care FACILITY INFORMATION • No. of Beds in Department: 288 hospital beds; 10-bed Level II NICU • EMR System: Meditech • Office Equipment Available: L&D and surgical services • Specialty Backup Available: CNMs (first assist trained), pediatric hospitalist, 24/7 anesthesia • Support Staff Available: Multidisciplinary OB team • Reason for Coverage: Supplemental Coverage PRIVILEGES & COMPLIANCE • Hospital Privileges Required: Yes COMPENSATION & BENEFITS • Rate: TBD • Travel, Lodging, and Malpractice Insurance: Not Specified REQUIRED PROCEDURES • OB hospitalist coverage • Vaginal and cesarean deliveries • Emergency OB/GYN procedures JOB REQUIREMENTS • Licenses: Active FL license required (IMLC accepted) • Board: Board Certified in OB/GYN • DEA: Active FL DEA required • Certifications: Not Specified • Experience: Minimum 2 years recent OB hospitalist experience with case logs • Other Qualifications: Must have practiced as OB hospitalist within past 2 years DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES • Provide 24-hour OB/GYN beeper call coverage • Manage labor and delivery patients and perform deliveries • Respond to emergency OB/GYN cases • Collaborate with CNMs and multidisciplinary care team • Maintain accurate documentation in Meditech EMR
Requirements
- Active FL license required (IMLC accepted)
- Board Certified in OB/GYN
- Active FL DEA required
- Minimum 2 years recent OB hospitalist experience with case logs
- Must have practiced as OB hospitalist within past 2 years
