About The Position

We are seeking a full-time Medical Assistant at Advance Community Health to support our OB/GYN, Women's Health providers at our Advance CarePlex in Holly Springs, NC. This role supports comprehensive obstetric and gynecologic care, promotes patient safety and comfort, and delivers culturally competent, patient-centered services to a diverse and underserved population.

Requirements

  • High school diploma/ GED required.
  • Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant training program or military medical corpsman program required.
  • Certification or registration as a Medical Assistant (CMA, RMA, or equivalent) preferred.
  • BLS certification required or ability to obtain within designated timeframe.
  • Clinical experience working in Women’s Health or OB/GYN.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and basic clinical procedures.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and teamwork skills.
  • Commitment to serving underserved and diverse patient populations.

Nice To Haves

  • Fluent in English and Spanish- written and verbal communications.

Responsibilities

  • Assist OB/GYN providers with examination
  • Assist OB/GYN providers with examinations, procedures, and treatments, including: Well-woman exams and pelvic exams Prenatal and postpartum visits Family planning and contraception services Gynecologic procedures
  • Prepare exam rooms and patients for visits, ensuring proper supplies, equipment, and infection control standards.
  • Obtain and document vital signs, medical histories, and chief complaints.
  • Perform phlebotomy, specimen collection.
  • Assist RN or provider with patient triage, to include telephone triage.
  • Complete information gathering segment of triage with specified patient population.
  • Refer all problems and urgent needs to RN or provider and conduct patient follow-up post encounter.
  • Make follow-up calls to patients as directed by the provider.
  • Manage provider messages and test result reports in accordance with established site procedure.
  • Manage prescription and refill medication request paperwork under the direction of the provider and Schedule appointments.
  • Review treatment related preparation instructions and follow-up educational material with patients and families as directed by provider or RN.
  • Maintain appropriate monitoring logs.
