OB/GYN Hospitalist Job Quick Facts: Specialty: OBGYN Hospitalist Job Type: Locum Tenens Facility Location: Davenport, IA Service Setting: Inpatient Reason For Coverage: Supplemental Coverage Period: ASAP - Ongoing Coverage Type: Call only Call Schedule: - 12 & 24 -hr calls; Mon -Fri & weekends Call Type: In -House Call Ratio: 1:5 Ave. no. of deliveries per month: 65 -80 Nursery Admissions: Ave. of 2 -5 % of Practice: - Low -risk Pregnancy: 40% - High -risk Pregnancy: 60%; C -section: varies Physicians in Practice: 4 Support Staff: 1 -2 CNM, Labor & Delivery, post partum, OR, ER. Required Procedures: - OB: Low Risk Pregnancy (History of Twins, Toxemia, Pyelonephritis, etc), High Risk Pregnancy (i.e. w/ Toxemia, Diabetes, Class II or Higher Cardiacs, Chronic Lung Problems, Chronic Renal Disease, etc), FHR Interpretation – NST/CST/FSE, OB ultrasounds: Performance of Level I/Screening (Viability) & Amniocentesis. - L&D: Routine Delivery: Vaginal, Low Forceps, Decision -Making for C -Section, Complicated Delivery –C -Section, Breech, Multiple Births, Abruptions, etc, VBACs, Repair of 3rd & 4th Degree Lacerations. - Gyne: Surgical: Open Laparoscopic Diagnostic/Minor Only -Tubal Ligation, LOAs, Chromal Tubation, Operative/Major (Includes Diagnostic): Ectopic Pregnancy, Ovary Removal, Cystectomy, Extensive LOAs. Lab & Ultrasound Onsite: Yes Trauma Level: III EMR: Cerner Other Info: - When Locum is on call, they will most likely have a resident on call with them. - Will not allow to work 2 consecutive 24 -hr shifts in a row on Mon -Fri; Will allow for a Fri/Sat, Sat/Sun, or Sun/Mon, but not during the week.
