About The Position

Emory Healthcare has an opportunity for an experienced OB/GYN Advanced Practice Provider (APP) to join our team in our Decatur location. This role will be 90% clinical and 10% administrative coordinating and overseeing the Fellowship program. The role will be responsible for developing an educational curriculum, programming, and accreditation criteria for individuals in OB/GYN APP Fellowship program. Ideal candidate will have 2+ years experience as an NP or PA, as well as 2+ years experience of educational leadership experience to mentor Fellows. Will also need to have experience in project management with scoping and deadlines. Our Physician Assistants (PA) and Nurse Practitioners (NP) are an integral part of the Emory Healthcare integrated academic health care system. Requirements

  • A minimum of 3 years clinical experience.
  • A minimum of 2 years educational leadership experience and/or membership on education committees and teams.
  • Current Georgia licensure as a Physician Assistant/Associate or Advanced Practiced Registered Nurse.
  • Certified as a Nurse Practitioner by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) or equivalent body, or Certified as a Physician's Assistant by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
  • BLS required, as well as ACLS may be required in some areas.

Responsibilities

  • Assists in the evaluation and treatment of women's health patients in an outpatient setting.
  • Documents the delivery of care in the individual's medical records.
  • Conducts patient interviews and documents patient histories, psychosocial histories, health status and medical problems or potential problems.
  • Under the direction of a physician, performs physical examinations and specialized diagnostic and/or therapeutic procedures including cast application and removal, wound suturing and dressing changes.
  • Assists physician in diagnosing medical problems, developing care plans, and prescribing treatment.
  • Coordinate and participate in the leadership of the APP OB/GYN Fellowship program.
