About The Position

The Sandra and Leon Levine Jewish Community Center is a nonprofit social service agency founded upon Jewish ethics and values. The JCC provides diverse social, educational, recreational, and cultural programs within a Jewish setting and serves as a community partner affiliated with the JCC Association of North America and the Jewish Federation of Greater Charlotte. Position Summary The Oasis Coordinator oversees the day-to-day operations of the Oasis Enrichment Program, ensuring high-quality programming, participant safety, and operational excellence for active aging adults. This role is responsible for maintaining compliance with applicable senior center standards and Division of Aging requirements, supporting advisory council engagement, and ensuring appropriate documentation, reporting, and professional development standards are met. The Oasis Coordinator plays a critical leadership role in upholding the integrity, quality, and sustainability of the Oasis program while fostering meaningful relationships with participants and their families.

Requirements

  • 1–5 years of experience in program management, preferably serving older adults.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and administrative skills.
  • Demonstrated budget management experience.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • CPR certification (or ability to obtain upon hire).
  • Knowledge of Judaism and Jewish culture, or willingness to learn.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive enrichment program for active aging adults in coordination with the Senior Director of Jewish Life.
  • Create and manage the monthly program calendar and ensure timely communication with Marketing.
  • Ensure participant safety, appropriate screening, and ongoing communication with families.
  • Conduct program evaluations to maintain high standards of quality and engagement.
  • Advocate for aging adults within Shalom Park and the broader community.
  • Develop and monitor the annual operating budget.
  • Manage lunch and scholarship programs in collaboration with internal committees.
  • Oversee data collection for grants and reporting.
  • Maintain program supplies and ensure organized, well-prepared program spaces.
  • Submit requisitions and payroll information accurately and timely.
  • Serve as staff liaison for the Weinberg Adult Center facility needs.
  • Supervise the Oasis lunch program, including kitchen oversight and menu planning.
  • Coordinate bus routes and transportation logistics with drivers.
  • Monitor transportation communications and ensure bus maintenance.
  • Attend field trips as lead staff and be willing to drive the bus if necessary.
  • Partner with Marketing to recruit participants and promote programs.
  • Support fundraising efforts and contribute to donor and grant reporting.
  • Participate in professional development, grant-related meetings, and agency-wide initiatives.
  • Communicate regularly with senior leadership regarding program performance and needs.
  • Support and collaborate with the Oasis Advisory Council and/or governing board in accordance with senior center standards, including preparation of materials, documentation, and follow-up as needed.
  • Assist in ensuring compliance with all applicable Division of Aging and senior center standards, including maintenance of required documentation such as membership records, orientation materials, surveys, advisory council materials, and training records.
  • Participate in data collection, needs assessments, and reporting processes to support evaluation of older adult community needs and program effectiveness.
  • Ensure required staff training is completed annually and properly documented, including CPR, First Aid, and other aging-related topics as applicable.
  • Successfully begin the Ann Johnson Senior Center Management Institute Modules within the first year of employment, as required by Division of Aging standards, and maintain ongoing professional development consistent with regulatory expectations.
  • Support grant documentation, funding reports, and audit preparation in collaboration with leadership and finance staff.
  • Uphold and enforce policies and procedures that ensure the safety, dignity, and well-being of all Oasis participants.
