About The Position

The PE Teacher for Middle School at Oasis Charter Schools is responsible for developing and implementing physical education lessons that promote the intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth of students. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
  • Valid Florida teaching certificate covering appropriate area of responsibility.
  • Bilingual skills are encouraged.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of and experience with industry-standard computer applications.
  • Ability to work with diverse groups of people.
  • Ability to work effectively under stress and multitask.
  • Ability to organize, prioritize tasks, and maintain high energy in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Leads students toward fulfillment of their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth.
  • Plans a program of study that meets the individual needs, interests, and abilities of students.
  • Assists in establishing curriculum objectives and develops a comprehensive plan for implementation and evaluation.
  • Creates a classroom environment conducive to learning appropriate to the maturity and interests of students.
  • Guides the learning process toward the achievement of curriculum goals and establishes clear objectives for lessons and projects.
  • Employs instructional methods and materials appropriate for meeting stated objectives.
  • Assesses student accomplishments regularly and provides progress reports as required.
  • Diagnoses learning strengths and weaknesses of students and seeks assistance from specialists as needed.
  • Counsels with colleagues, students, and parents regularly.
  • Assists administration in implementing policies governing student life and conduct.
  • Plans and supervises assignments for auxiliary personnel and evaluates their effectiveness.
  • Maintains accurate records as required by law and district policy.
  • Attends staff meetings and serves on committees as necessary.
  • Seeks professional development opportunities and maintains licensure and certifications.
  • Maintains positive communication with colleagues, community members, parents, and students.

Benefits
