This is a full-time position with Los Angeles Unified School District. The ideal candidate for the OAR II position would be an experienced professional with at least 15 years of full-time paid experience in construction and/or project management, with at least five of those years managing complex projects valued over $20M. They should have a strong background in overseeing all phases of construction, including pre-construction, bidding, construction, and project close-out. The candidate must be adept at managing project budgets and schedules, reviewing contractor submittals and change orders, and ensuring compliance with specifications and district requirements. They should also have experience coordinating with various public agencies and project staff and have the ability to negotiate fair pricing and address schedule impacts. A bachelors degree in architecture, engineering, or construction management is required, or a combination of education and substantial construction management experience. The ideal candidate will also possess excellent communication and organizational skills, be able to prepare detailed progress reports for upper management, and manage the close-out process, including compliance with regulatory requirements. Preferred qualifications include design-build experience, knowledge of BIM, LEED-certified projects, and familiarity with DSA construction processes. A valid Certified Construction Manager (CCM) credential or the ability to obtain it within one year is also required.
