About The Position

The IT Business Analyst III - IV at the Office of the Attorney General (OAG) is responsible for leading transformative data initiatives and ensuring compliance with data governance standards across the organization. This role involves championing data stewardship, mentoring data stewards, and collaborating with various teams to enhance data quality and management processes. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in building a data-driven culture and ensuring that data management aligns with organizational goals and statutory requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in information technology, data management, data analytics, or related fields.
  • Two years of experience in data governance, data management, or data-adjacent operations in a government or public-sector organization.
  • Knowledge of data governance frameworks, principles, and regulatory requirements.
  • Skill in using data quality tools and data governance platforms (e.g., Informatica, Collibra).
  • Effective oral and written communication skills with good presentation abilities.

Nice To Haves

  • Certifications in data management (e.g., Certified Data Management Professional) or agile project management.
  • Four or more years of experience in data governance, data management, or cybersecurity in a government or public-sector organization.

Responsibilities

  • Establish, lead, and enforce data stewardship processes and communications across the organization.
  • Collaborate with the Data Governance Council to align initiatives with broader goals and ensure policy adherence.
  • Provide guidance on interpreting and implementing data policies and standards.
  • Mentor and support data stewards through training and best practice sharing.
  • Track, measure, and report data quality metrics, leading improvement efforts as necessary.
  • Manage and maintain business and technical metadata, including data lineage.
  • Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends to enhance data governance and management.
  • Identify and mitigate potential risks associated with technology programs and projects.
