About The Position

EthosEnergy is currently seeking an O&M Technician for our facility in Pittsfield, MA. The O&M Technician is responsible for monitoring the status of all plant systems, controlling routine plant operations, responding to alarms and abnormal conditions by taking appropriate corrective actions as directed by the Control Room Operator on duty, and performing basic routine maintenance duties. The O&M Technician carries out tasks in accordance with Plant Operating and Maintenance procedures and associated vendor and manufacturer technical procedures. This position operates from established and well-known procedures, performing duties independently under general direction and minimum supervision, and encounters recurring work situations of high complexity, with occasional variations from the norm.

Requirements

  • Must possess basic math skills.
  • Good verbal communications skills.
  • Proficient with the use of power and precision tools.
  • Ability to work without direct supervision.
  • Knowledge of hazards involved and safety precautions in the operation and maintenance of power plant equipment and machinery.
  • Ability to respond to audio alarms and variations of sound.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in power generation facilities, process plants or equivalent military experience.
  • Additional experience with machinery repair and control systems preferred.
  • 2nd Class Engineers License in the State of MA strongly preferred.
  • Additional professional training preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive maintenance duties on all major equipment and systems.
  • Maintain complete equipment files, logs, and drawings for all designated equipment.
  • Forecast, inventory, and reorder spare parts to maintain plant reliability.
  • Assist in physical inventories.
  • Participate in the administrative maintenance of the plant operating manuals, technical references, prints and diagrams and preventive/predictive maintenance records.
  • Inspect, repair, install, and remove all types of motors, generators, transformers, switches, control equipment, wiring, electrical signal and communication systems, and storage batteries.
  • Work with electrical systems up to and including 4160 volts.
  • Complete other tasks as requested by the Maintenance Manager.
