About The Position

We are seeking individuals to join as an Operations & Maintenance (O&M) Technical Coordinator to support day-to-day administrative and technical O&M activities across assigned utility-scale battery energy storage system (BESS) assets in the ERCOT market. This role reports to the O&M Manager, Asset Management (ERCOT). The primary purpose of this role is to execute and coordinate key administrative and technical O&M support workflows, including warranty administration, technical issue tracking, vendor follow-up, documentation management, and reporting, to improve execution efficiency, issue resolution cadence, and operational visibility across assigned ERCOT assets. This is a technical support and execution role within Asset Management, supporting Field Operations and asset management activities. It is not a primary site operator or field technician position; however, periodic travel to ERCOT project sites is required, as needed, to support audits, internal and external reporting, inspections, vendor coordination, issue verification, commissioning and testing support, and field fact-gathering activities. This role is well-suited for candidates with utility-scale BESS/renewables O&M, field service, commissioning, or operations coordination experience who are strong in execution, documentation, and cross-functional follow-through.

Requirements

  • 2-5 years of experience in utility-scale power generation, preferably in renewables and/or BESS, including solar + storage, field service, commissioning, or industrial electrical operations and maintenance.
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, engineering technology, operations, or related field required.
  • Equivalent combinations of education, technical training, and relevant utility-scale, industrial, or military technical experience will be considered.
  • Experience supporting maintenance scheduling, work tracking, or service coordination for PM/CM activities in a power generation, renewables, or industrial environment.
  • Working knowledge of utility-scale BESS equipment and plant systems, including battery systems, PCS/inverters, transformers, switchgear, protection/controls, metering, communications interfaces, and SCADA/telemetry or plant monitoring systems (including alarm review and operational status verification).
  • Experience working cross-functionally with internal teams (e.g., Asset Management, Field Operations, HSE, Compliance, Engineering) and external stakeholders (e.g., OEMs, contractors, service providers, inspectors) to support issue resolution, documentation, and execution of site-related activities.
  • Strong organizational skills, follow-through, and written/verbal communication, including the ability to manage multiple open items across sites/vendors and provide clear status updates and issue summaries.
  • Experience with CMMS / asset tracking systems and proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to assigned ERCOT sites as needed.

Nice To Haves

  • Direct experience with utility-scale BESS operations, maintenance, commissioning, or field service.
  • Experience supporting assets in the ERCOT market and/or Texas utility-scale power operations.
  • Familiarity with plant operational workflows, including dispatch/monitoring interfaces, outage coordination, and site commissioning and testing support.
  • Ability to read and interpret one-lines, wiring diagrams, OEM manuals, and maintenance procedures.
  • Experience with compliance documentation support, audit preparation, and evidence retention practices.
  • OSHA 10/30, NFPA 70E, LOTO/JHA training, or OEM/system integrator training related to BESS, PCS, EMS, SCADA, or protection systems.

Responsibilities

  • Support the O&M Manager with day-to-day administrative and technical operations activities across assigned ERCOT assets.
  • Track open operational issues, maintenance items, vendor actions, and escalations; maintain clear ownership, due dates, status, and closure documentation.
  • Support scheduling and tracking of preventive maintenance (PM) and corrective maintenance (CM) activities, including vendor coordination, status updates, and completion of documentation for assigned ERCOT assets.
  • Prepare and submit warranty claims to OEMs, integrators, and service providers, track claims through response, corrective action, and closure.
  • Support technical issue triage by organizing field and system information; collect and maintain supporting technical documentation and evidence (e.g., equipment serial numbers, service reports, dispatch notes, alarm/fault logs, and related records).
  • Coordinate cross-functional follow-through with Asset Management, Field Operations, HSE, Compliance, Operations Engineering, and external vendors/service providers to support issue resolution, documentation quality, and operational readiness.
  • Maintain issue trackers, warranty logs, and operational records in company systems (e.g., CMMS and asset tracking databases); maintain inventory and serialized component tracking, including spares, RMAs, replacements, and returns.
  • Coordinate vendor visits, service dispatches, and follow-up actions; ensure required service documentation is received and properly archived.
  • Travel to ERCOT sites as needed to support audits, inspections, issue verification, commissioning and testing support, and field fact-gathering, document observations, action items, and follow-up requirements for the O&M Manager and relevant teams.
  • Support construction and commissioning activities on an as-needed basis, including testing support, punch-list follow-up, documentation collection, and coordination with internal and external teams to improve Asset Management readiness and post-COD operational knowledge continuity.
  • Coordinate internal and external reporting, audit/compliance documentation, and updates to operational procedures and response documentation.
  • Adhere to and enforce esVolta safety rules, practices, and procedures; maintain a “stop work” mindset, escalate hazards immediately, and partner with HSE to ensure safe execution during vendor visits, inspections, and commissioning/testing support activities.
