About The Position

Canadian Solar, Inc. is currently seeking an O&M Field Technician II for our Operations & Maintenance (O&M) Division. The O&M Field Technician II will be responsible for maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of project equipment related to any operational solar farms or rooftop projects. The successful candidate will have strong electrical and mechanical aptitude, troubleshooting techniques, and organizational skills to drive and achieve project uptime and production targets of projects. This position requires the ability to work independently or within a team environment, ensuring that all tasks are completed efficiently and effectively. In this role, the technician will troubleshoot daily project system issues to meet uptime goals and understand hourly production output targets. If there is any danger of not meeting these targets, the technician will execute a plan for correction or elevation of the situation. Following maintenance schedules, the technician will perform routine maintenance, including preventive maintenance (PMs) and start-up tests on equipment, determining when and what kind of maintenance is needed before escalating problems to the Operations & Maintenance Manager. The technician will also identify potential problems and suggest changes or corrective actions to improve system performance and reduce maintenance costs. Collaboration is key in this position, as the technician will work with other members of the maintenance team, subcontractors, and various groups within the organization to achieve resolution to plant issues. The technician will ensure that Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) work orders are complete and prepare necessary documents for procurement and utilization of materials and vendor services. Additionally, the technician will diagnose and troubleshoot various project systems issues, provide operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting training to operators, and assist in developing standard operating documents for maintenance, operations, and training. The technician will also assist with project commissioning and testing, attend and participate in all assigned trainings in safety, environmental, and other areas, oversee and supervise subcontractors, and adhere to all health and safety rules and company policies.
