As an Auxiliary Plant Operator at the Kalaeloa Cogen Plant, you’ll play a key role in ensuring safe and dependable operations of a cutting-edge combined cycle power facility. This role supports real-time energy production that helps power local communities and industries.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; technical/vocational training preferred
  • Minimum of 2+ years' experience in power generation, industrial, marine, or process plant environments
  • Working knowledge of pumps, valves, motors, and power plant systems
  • Strong commitment to safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement
  • Ability to work rotating shifts (including nights, weekends, holidays)
  • Ability to wear a respirator, work at heights, and enter confined spaces
  • Must pass background check and drug/alcohol screening

Nice To Haves

  • 4+ years of progressive plant operations experience
  • Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in a related field
  • Familiarity with digital work management systems
  • Lockout/tagout, confined space, and hot work permitting experience
  • Basic understanding of plant water treatment and chemistry

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Lead Operator in safe, reliable plant operations
  • Operate and monitor auxiliary equipment and systems
  • Perform daily rounds, record equipment readings, and maintain logs
  • Support turbine startups, shutdowns, and compressor washes
  • Enter and support work orders using the plant's CMMS system
  • Follow all GE Vernova EHS (Environmental, Health & Safety) standards and procedures
  • Conduct basic water chemistry analysis and sampling
  • Assist in routine and corrective maintenance activities across departments
