About The Position

The NYFF Programming Assistant will support the Programming Manager and Artistic Director in a range of administrative tasks, including supporting the film submission and invitation process, tracking films, and organizing/supporting the Selection Committees that program the New York Film Festival. They will play a key role in gathering film information for festival materials, and communicating information about the festival’s program to other Film at Lincoln Center/NYFF Departments to ensure filmmakers and their teams are supported in the lead up to the festival.

  • Proficient in Google Workspace (Mail, Calendar, Chat, Docs, Sheets, etc)
  • Fast Learner with great problem solving skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Impeccable email manner
  • Excellent organization and communication skills
  • Must have a high degree of discretion in handling sensitive information
  • Flexibility to work evenings and/or weekends as driven by the programming and press release calendar.

Responsibilities

  • Tracking submissions and film links
  • Organizing and supporting meetings for the various Selection Committees of NYFF
  • Assisting in building and sharing film invitations with studios and filmmakers
  • Working with theater and technical teams to arrange committee and copywriter screenings
  • Communicating with film teams to determine scheduling restrictions; support the Programming Manager in building the festival screening schedule
  • Updating the festival database with invited films, screening schedule, and changes/additions
  • Assisting in booking travel and accommodations for programmers, committee and advisors during the selection process
  • Liaising with artist services team to ensure filmmakers and studios are supported
  • Other administrative tasks as assigned
